For Rotarians, the Paul Harris Fellow (PHF) recognition is more than just a pin or a certificate; it represents a profound commitment to “Doing Good in the World.” However, reaching that 1,000-point milestone can sometimes be a long journey. One of the most beautiful traditions in Rotary is the ability for members to “share the impact” by transferring their own Foundation points to fellow Rotarians.

Until now, this process was often seen as a manual, administrative hurdle. Today, we are thrilled to announce that supporting your fellow Rotarians just got a whole lot easier with the latest update to the DACdb Ignite app.

What is Point Transferring?

The Rotary Foundation allows members to accumulate Foundation recognition points through their contributions. These points can be used to recognize others as Paul Harris Fellows or to contribute toward a member’s next PHF level. By transferring points, you are directly helping a friend, a new member, or a dedicated volunteer reach their next milestone sooner.

Why This Update is a Game-Changer

The latest update to the Ignite app makes transferring points fast, simple, and convenient. Instead of navigating complex menus or waiting until you are back at a desktop computer, you can now initiate a transfer request in just a few taps directly from your mobile device.

  • Fast: Fill out the transfer form in seconds.
  • Simple: A streamlined interface designed for ease of use.
  • Convenient: Strengthening the bonds of your Rotary family while you’re on the go.

How it Works: Ignite vs. The “Old-Fashioned” Way

While the Ignite app provides a revolutionary new “front-end” for members, it is important to understand how it interacts with Rotary International’s systems:

  1. The Ignite Method: Within the app, you simply fill out the point transfer form. This update makes the request process a breeze, acting as a streamlined portal that submits your request with ease.
  2. The Traditional Method: Previously, members had to log in to My.Rotary.org, navigate deep into the Foundation brand center, and fill out a multi-page PDF (Form 102-EN) or use the desktop portal.
  3. Behind the Scenes: While Ignite streamlines the request, the actual verification and final processing of the points are still handled by the Rotary Foundation’s secure systems. Ignite simply removes the friction, allowing you to focus on the act of giving rather than the paperwork.

Streamlining Your Rotary Experience

This update is part of our larger mission to ensure that Ignite is more than just a member management tool for club leaders—it is a personal management tool for every member.

By integrating Foundation tracking and point sharing into your mobile experience, Ignite empowers you to manage your own Rotary journey. Whether you are checking your current PHF status or helping a fellow member reach their next milestone, Ignite puts the power of the Rotary Foundation at your fingertips.
